The majority of Hackney Council’s staff are located at the Town Hall campus, in Hackney Central, E8 (Zone 2). The campus is served by Hackney Central/Downs and London Fields Overground stations, as well as a variety of bus routes. Bethnal Green tube station is a 25 minute walk to the south.

Our staff are also based in other locations, such as Stoke Newington Town Hall, the Clockhouse in Stamford Hill, Millfields Road and and Florfield Road depots, the Youth Hubs or in our libraries which are dotted around the borough. Most staff can log in and work from any location.
Our flagship buildings are Hackney Town Hall, and the Hackney Service Centre (which serves as a customer service hub for residents, and houses over 1000 staff). Hackney Town Hall has recently undergone extensive renovation work which once again gives Hackney a civic focus it can be proud of, and a building that can actively contribute to the democratic, cultural and commercial future of Hackney.
The amount of buildings Hackney Council occupies has reduced in recent years to allow us to save on overheads, upgrade the buildings we continue to use and allow more flexibility on where and how our staff work.
The Council is so proud of it’s spaces, it hires them out! Take a look at what we have to offer to our residents and corporate clients on the Hackney Venues website.
