Hackney Council’s Employment, Skills and Adult Learning Service is seeking to recruit a full time Business Support & Examinations Officer to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our hardworking and successful Adult Learning team to support the high-quality provision of teaching for our learners and residents.
The role includes assisting the MIS & Examinations Manager to provide an effective day-to-day operation of the examinations function, ensuring compliance with the service’s policies and procedures and the requirements of external bodies, including awarding organisations, Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and funding agencies, advising staff as appropriate and ensuring that all examination registrations, entries and results claims are submitted on time, accurately and in line with Awarding Body guidelines and regulations. Whilst running the exams you will play a frontline role, which will include consulting with teachers and learners.
The postholder will be the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, partners and contractors and will be responsible for any operational tasks related to coordinating meetings and events. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will provide flexible and efficient administrative support to the lifelong learning service, learners and tutors to ensure the smooth running of the service.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the drive to achieve goals in a fast paced environment,will have strong ICT skills, a track record of administrative support skills and experience of maintaining projects. Experience in working in an educational environment as well as experience using databases for examinations processes would be desirable. You will demonstrate a positive attitude, be self-motivated, organised and have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of people.
