We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to become part of the Highways Team.
The Highways Team within Streetscene requires a Drainage Engineer to join the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA). You will assist in the delivery of the LLFA statutory duties and functions under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and the Flood Risk Regulations 2009.
Under the responsibility of the LLFA you will be required to undertake a statutory consultee role providing technical advice on surface water drainage to local planning authorities on developments in Hackney. You will prepare and maintain the strategy for local flood risk management, coordinating views and activity with other Risk Management Authorities (RMA) and communities through consultation and engagement.
Day to day you will carry out works including funding applications to manage local flood risks, maintain the flood assets register, investigate significant local flooding incidents and preparation of Section 19 reports, whilst undertaking SuDS design and supervision construction works.
