Woodberry Down is one of the largest estate regeneration programmes in Europe, providing around 5500 new homes, parks and public facilities alongside the stunning Woodberry Wetlands. The Council is delivering this ambitious programme in partnership with local residents, community organisations, Berkeley Homes and Notting Hill Genesis.

As the Head of Regeneration- Woodberry Down (head of service) you will lead the Woodberry Down regeneration service and be responsible for ensuring that the regeneration programme is delivered in accordance with the contractual agreements between the partners. You will lead, shape and influence the direction of travel of the programme, ensuring that the regeneration meets current and future aspirations for the area.

You will have worked at a senior level within regeneration, or a related field, and bring a track record of successfully delivering complex partnership projects. This will be supported by substantial programme and resource management experience, and you will use your commercial acumen to secure positive outcomes from the programme.

As a member of the Economy, Regeneration and New Homes (ERNH) leadership group you will help achieve the Mayor’s priorities and the Council’s corporate objectives. You will play a key role in creating better places for people to live and work in Hackney, as part of an ambitious vision to build thousands of genuinely affordable homes in the borough.

You will lead staff by example, build positive relationships with the local community and regeneration partners, and work effectively with elected members and senior Council officers.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape a transformative regeneration programme and partnership, delivering high quality new homes and exemplary placemaking. The successful postholder will benefit from the use of a dedicated project office in Woodberry Down in close proximity to open and green spaces, including Woodberry Wetlands and reservoirs.
