In recent years, Hackney schools have become some of the best state schools in the country. Our vision is to improve the life chances of every child and learner and make Hackney the most forward looking education system in the UK.

The Hackney Schools Group Board (HSGB) is a new advisory board designed to engage all Hackney schools in system improvement and be the practical manifestation of school system leadership. Conceived as a ‘think tank’, the Board will steer local improvement in Hackney through enquiry and research, using its unique role and position in relation to the council and the school network to promote participation.

The Hackney School’s Group Board is being set up to continue to develop strong strategic partnerships between the Local Authority and Schools. It will act as an advisory board to the Director of Education, and will engage a broad range of voices and opinions in shaping improvement in education and steering local policy.

As an independent board member you will be committed to using your education research expertise, energy and knowledge to support the leadership of an exceptional local education system.
