Management Apprenticeships: 2 Posts, Level 5

Hackney Council’s award-winning apprenticeship programme has been designed to create quality opportunities for Hackney residents and school leavers. All of our apprenticeships last at least 13 months and combine paid work, training, and study towards a recognised qualification in a relevant subject. As an apprentice with us, you will earn at least the London Living Wage, and get a package of support including additional learning and development, and help to progress into a job or further apprenticeship. Over two thirds of our apprentices stay with Hackney Council.

Hackney Council is seeking to recruit two Management Apprentices. These will be two-year fixed-term contracts, giving participants exposure to a range of frontline services and management. Our objective is to develop future service managers in local government.

The specific purpose of the job is to undertake a variety of placements over two years across a range of council departments, including corporate, front-line resident-focused services and support services. Placements will typically last from 3-9 months and entail a significant level of responsibility or impact.

We are looking for talented, motivated and driven individuals who see a career working in and for local government as inspirational. The scheme aims to develop individuals who will act as effective change agents and enablers in a council and is designed to help individuals realise their leadership potential in a vibrant and rapidly changing sector.

The post holders will be members of the Policy and Strategic Delivery service.

You will spend 20% of your time working towards your qualification or taking part in training and development activities.
