Mental Health Social Worker – North Hackney Community Mental Health Team – Adult Services.

North Hackney Recovery Team provides an assertive and responsive service to adults who experience severe and enduring mental health illness within the borough of Hackney.  We respond to the needs of adults with a mental disorder and their carers in a timely manner, within the boundaries of statutory legislation, and with regard to individual circumstances. We support people to build resilience and restore quality of life.

We are currently recruiting a Mental Health Social Worker to join our integrated community mental health team in North Hackney. This is a specialist community mental health team that works with people who present complex and enduring mental health and social care needs. Your role will be to ensure that the social care agenda, including safeguarding issues are dealt with and to respond to the needs of adults with mental disorders and their carers in a timely manner. You will plan and deliver outcome focused interventions linked to promoting independence and social inclusion.

Your enthusiasm for providing a high quality service will be matched by your ability to work collaboratively with service users who are experiencing a range of mental health and social care needs, as well as providing support and assessment to their carers and families. An excellent understanding of the issues people with mental health have is essential for this post, as is a good understanding of Care Programme Approach and Case Management.

Significant experience of working in an adult mental health setting or delivering a mental health service is required. We welcome applicants that are qualified AMPH’s, or social workers who are willing to undertake training in this area. You will be qualified in CQSW or DipSW or equivalent, HCPC registered; and have experience of working in inner city urban areas.

Bringing jobs and investment into the borough, securing the legacy from the 2012 Games, and making this a place of which we can all be proud.
