Hackney Learning Trust is the Education Services department within Hackney Council. It provides a range of statutory and traded services to support the education of children, young people and adults in the borough. We are looking for Parenting and Family Information Service Manager to plan, lead and manage the service to ensure the Local Authority meets its statutory obligations. Successful candidates would be responsible for working in partnership with local and national agencies (including Health, Education and Social Care) to coordinate information and signpost relevant services.

The Family Information Service (FIS) provides information, to families with children aged from 0 to 19, about childcare, paying for childcare, out of school activities and services for families in the borough. FIS promotes free or cheap activities and events in and around Hackney. FIS also provides the interface between Ofsted and the local authority.

The role also includes providing support, advice and information to parents and carers in order to support parenting.

In particular, we are seeking applicants who:

  • Are dynamic, customer focused, solution orientated with good interpersonal skills.
  • Have knowledge of current United Kingdom legislation that regulates information to families, childcare, and early years’ education.
  • Have experience of working with families and sign posting for support.
