We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, committed and passionate Practice Development Manager (PDM) for our permanency service (SGO support).  As the PDM you will lead a group of up to five social workers delivering child-focused support service including reviewing support plan. This role provides an opportunity to further shape the permanency service within a high performing, high profile local authority.

Hackney Children and Families Service Practice Development Managers work at the forefront of best practice, leading a social work unit. This role provides an opportunity to shape children’s social work by working at management level while remaining ‘hands on’ with children and families. You will have the opportunity to mentor and coach fellow professionals in your unit to achieve continual best practice.

Working closely with other highly skilled managers and social workers, you will be supported and encouraged to apply theory and research in front-line practice, building on a strong track record of service delivery and innovation within the service.

Your strong leadership skills will enable you to mobilise the skills of the other members of your unit, ensuring the very best outcomes for children in Hackney.

Candidates must hold a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) recognised social work qualification, be HCPC registered and have evidence of continuing professional development pursuant to a specialist level of knowledge.
