Hackney Council is looking for an experienced supervisor to help us maintain the properties we look after. We manage over 30,000 properties, your role will be to supervise the team that helps keep these homes safe and well maintained for our residents.

As a Repair / Void Team Supervisor you will be managing a team of approximately 16 people. You will process works and manage your team’s workload helping to prioritise when repairs are carried out. You will also do routine & void inspections before and after jobs are done to make sure works are completed safely and to a high standard.

Your team will be working in properties across Hackney and sometimes in other areas. They will be helping prepare empty properties for their new occupants as well as working on properties that are lived in. Some of this will be scheduled maintenance, but you will also provide a response service for repairs as they are reported by our residents and service users.

You will require a good general knowledge of repairs and maintenance and having a trade background would be beneficial. It’s important that you have a technical understanding of some of the issues your team will respond to. You should have experience supervising a team of building trade operatives, good sound knowledge of general building works, performance management and monitoring of the service budgets and financial planning.

You need to hold a full UK driving licence (no more than three penalty points) and access to your own vehicle for business use. You also need a recognised trade or Building Maintenance Management qualification. In return you will have opportunities for personal development, generous annual leave and an attractive pay package.
