Hackney Council is seeking an experienced, dynamic and motivated regeneration Senior Project Manager to join its award winning Regeneration directorate.

As part of the Area Regeneration service you will be responsible for leading the future development of Hackney’s priority regeneration areas and town centres, preparing regeneration plans, delivering innovative regeneration projects and programmes, and ensuring that as many residents and businesses as possible benefit from economic growth and development in the borough. You’ll have a key role in contributing to the delivery of one of the most complex and exciting development and regeneration briefs in the UK.

You will have experience in leading and delivering physical, social and economic regeneration, working in partnership with the community and senior stakeholders, and the proven ability to lead complex commercial negotiations to bring forward development sites that deliver new homes and jobs. 

Hackney has experienced rapid economic growth in recent years particularly in the tech, media, fashion and creative industries. Its thriving arts, cultural, commercial and retail sectors have made it one of London’s most popular places to live, work and visit and Hackney is well known for its diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods and town centres. 

The Area Regeneration service is responsible for developing and implementing regeneration programmes in priority areas and town centres across the borough including Shoreditch, Hoxton, Hackney Wick, Dalston and Hackney Central. Our aim is to make sure that the borough’s growth provides benefits for everyone who lives here, and creates opportunities that will transform the lives of local people. 

As Senior Project Manager you will lead the delivery of a range of town centre regeneration projects – at all stages, from inception to completion. You’ll come to us with a track record of delivering exemplary housing and mixed use regeneration schemes, as well as an understanding of housing, regeneration and planning issues. Previous experience of project management in a housing development, regeneration or construction environment is essential. You’ll also have a track record of successfully engaging with colleagues and residents – building positive and productive working relationships.
