At Hackney Council we’ve been on a journey of digital transformation, bringing ICT services in-house; launching a pioneering apprenticeship programme; modernising workplace technologies; introducing a ‘cloud unless’ strategy; restructuring around product teams that design, build and support digital services; growing our user centred design community; and initiating sector-leading data and analytics work.
There have been huge challenges. Along with other councils, we’ve responded to the pandemic and the extraordinary demands of lockdown, alongside the challenges posed by the dual housing and cost of living crises, as well as recovering from a serious criminal cyberattack in 2020.
Joining Hackney, you’ll be working in agile teams with a product focus, that take a user-centred approach to design, and harness technologies like cutting edge cloud computing platforms to transform local public services.
