An exciting opportunity is available in Hackney Council within the Compliance & Client Relationships Team for the role as Compliance & Client Relationships Manager.

This role presents an opportunity to help shape the future of property safety across the Council’s Strategic Property Portfolio, and advance the Council’s Health and Safety objectives in providing safe premises for our staff, users and others. The estate comprises around 600 properties, including buildings in various sectors, such as commercial offices, libraries, community halls, temporary accommodation and the voluntary sector.

The role will involve managing a dynamic team of property safety professionals in developing compliance management and reporting for the Council’s Strategic Property Portfolio. You will play a key role in shaping roles and processes to optimise the service.

The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in occupational safety, building or property related disciplines. It will be essential to have knowledge of relevant legislation,  building regulations, and council procurement.

Hackney is one of the most dynamic and progressive local authorities in the UK. We are a resilient, vibrant, and creative borough in the heart of London, with strong, diverse communities and a powerful set of shared values.

Over the past twenty years, the Council has built up first-class services, outstanding public infrastructure, and a reputation for excellence, innovation, and ambition. We are leading the way on essential work such as our fight for equity in Hackney with a particular focus on becoming an actively anti-racist borough. But the work doesn’t stop there, we are proactive in our approach to bringing fairness to all aspects of life including gender, neurodiversity and across the poverty divide.

As a Council, our most outstanding asset is our staff, who are highly dedicated to serving our residents and committed to our goals as an organisation.
