Hackney Council is looking for an enthusiastic consultation and engagement professional to join Hackney’s consultation & engagement team.

You will lead on consultation and engagement projects as directed by the consultation & engagement manager. You will provide best practice engagement advice and work with project leads to develop, implement and evaluate consultation & engagement strategies that effectively involve residents and relevant stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have excellent consultation, engagement, and research skills, and an ability to work independently to plan, deliver and analyse consultations to a high standard. You will also need to be comfortable managing high profile politically sensitive projects and advising senior managers and lead members. You will have confidence pioneering new and innovative consultation initiatives and utilising co-design and co-production to support engagement.

Although not essential for the role, we are interested in hearing from those with experience in the development or redevelopment of schools and educational sites.

You will develop close working relationships with relevant project officers, ensuring they are adequately briefed about the progress of relevant consultation and engagement projects. You’ll also provide consultation advice to senior officers, members, colleagues, and external partners relating to consultation & engagement projects you’re leading on.

If you would like to discuss any elements of the role, please contact daniel.barrett@hackney.gov.uk
