As a Supervisor in the Corporate Administrative Support team, you will be responsible for a range of managerial functions across the Council’s print and post functions.

This includes overseeing the efficient distribution of incoming mail across the whole organisation; scanning and indexing documents; safe dispatch of outgoing mail; and production of print jobs, often within very tight deadlines; as well as a wide range of administrative duties. 

You will also have sound knowledge of GDPR legislation and ensure the team is adhering to the Council’s internal security processes to keep data safe and protect residents’ confidential information. 

To do this, you will be:

– An experienced manager of either print or post processes

– Great communicator – able to challenge constructively and deliver feedback to staff

– Proactive problem solver

– Team builder – able to work cohesively to improve processes and maintain standards.

About you

We don’t expect you to tick every box on our job description. The most important things we are looking for are:

– Good working knowledge of either print or post systems and functions

– Experience in people management and performance monitoring

– Ability to understand and use data to analyse service outputs and budgets

Where we work

We offer hybrid working. You will be expected to come into our offices in the Hackney Service Centre to work with your team for a minimum of two days a week, however many of us prefer to come in more frequently. Like many organisations, our hybrid arrangements are evolving and you may be expected to work from the office more frequently in future.

– Proven track record of using digital tools to improve processes

– Proficient in a range of IT systems including Google, Canon, document management and mailing systems.
