What we do
Hackney’s Housing Service is undergoing a period of significant transformation, beginning implementation of an Integrated Housing Management System (IHMS) as part of cyberattack recovery efforts, and as the next phase of modernising services to ensure they are truly resident-centric. To do this, we are building a multidisciplinary team across our Housing and ICT teams blending expertise in social housing, service design, data and technology.
About the role
With the successful implementation of the NEC (IHMS) our ambition is to build a platform for the future delivery of services including tenancy and leasehold management, temporary accommodation and housing needs, as well as providing an effective CRM to manage resident activities. To do this, we need the system to be built and configured with relevant, high quality data and effective processes to ensure optimal functionality.
As a Data Analyst, you’ll work in our Data & Insight team, using modern technologies to locate, profile, cleanse and manipulate data so that it is ready for migration to the new NEC housing system.
You’ll work with team members and stakeholders to understand the key data sets required for migration, as well as any challenges and shortcomings that may need to be addressed. You will need to think creatively and be willing to try new technologies, focusing on reusability and repeatability.
About you
We don’t expect you to tick every box on our job description. The most important things we are looking for are:
- Experience working with housing management data, preferably with NEC or other housing databases
- Experience working with data as part of a system migration
- Knowledge of advanced data analysis techniques and data visualisation tools
- A self-starting, ‘can do’ attitude with a thorough attention to detail
- Ability to work transparently and in the open with clear communication with team members and stakeholders, promoting best data practices.
Our priorities
Over the next year our priority areas of focus are:
- Launching the NEC Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) in Q2/ 2026
- Improving data quality within key housing datasets through data quality tests and cleansing in preparation for successful data migration to the new IHMS
- Iterative testing of datasets and liaison with users to understand improvements and promote best data practices.
