We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Team Leader with extensive experience in planning enforcement, working for Hackney Council one of Britain’s fastest-changing and exciting boroughs.  Reporting to the Enforcement Team Leader, you will assist the Team Leader with the operational responsibility for the Enforcement Team, ensuring that our customers receive an efficient and effective service. 

Our Development Management & Enforcement team provides a number of vital services within the Borough and promotes a culture of positive planning across the Council to maximise the benefits for our residents and businesses.  We are looking to further strengthen our existing teams to maintain a high performing, high morale environment within the Planning Service.  A number of opportunities across the teams are available, all vital to the successful operation of the Development Management and Enforcement function.

You will assist in leading on all matters relating to planning enforcement, statutory functions and prosecutions. You will work with the community to ensure that all needs and requirements are met. This is a position which carries great responsibility but also provides a great deal of freedom for the right applicant.

You will have a relevant qualification in Town Planning (or equivalent) which supports membership of, eligibility for the Royal Town Planning Institute, as well as experience of working at a senior level within Planning Enforcement.
