Hackney Council is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support our Technical Services Team within Corporate Building Maintenance & Compliance to deliver an effective, reliable, customer focused service.
The role will provide expert and technical advice on the design, condition, capacity, suitability and statutory compliance monitoring of electrical installations, plant and equipment advising stakeholders.
The role supports the Technical Services Manager and Senior Electrical Engineer in managing the work of the team to ensure that buildings are maintained to agreed standards.
Using electrical engineering knowledge and a high level of technical expertise, you will carry out a critical role, ensuring that Hackney Council can deliver its services and meet corporate objectives through the Corporate estate. The estate comprises around 600 properties and the requirement ranges from a fully managed service to a Corporate Landlord role.
You will be responsible for carrying out inspections, reactive repairs, developing maintenance plans and the repairs & maintenance programme, procuring and managing repairs and maintenance capital projects and providing a specialist technical and professional role on major projects.
You are required to have a relevant degree in Electrical Services engineering or postgraduate qualification or equivalent relevant experience. It is desirable to have membership of an appropriate professional body such as The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
An Enhanced DBS check is to be completed prior to start date.
