The London Borough of Hackney is a progressive, dynamic authority known for innovation and our commitment to social justice. We are actively focused on becoming an anti-racist borough and ensuring fairness across all aspects of life, including neurodiversity and the poverty divide. Join our Integrated Mental Health Service (IMHS), delivered in partnership with East London Foundation Trust (ELFT). This is an exciting time to join as we embed our redesigned pathways and strengthen practice across the service.
The Role: Impact and Autonomy
We have vacancies for Experienced Qualified Social Workers (PO2-PO3) and AMHPs (PO4) who contribute to the rota. You will be trusted to apply your professional expertise and autonomy while being part of a supportive team structure.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking Care Act assessments, safeguarding enquiries, and reviews.
- Connecting meaningfully with residents and carers using professional curiosity and sound judgement.
- Working collaboratively with health colleagues and partners to provide timely, person-centred care.
- Embedding trauma-informed, strengths-based, and anti-racist practice to help residents achieve outcomes that matter to them.
About You: Essential Criteria
We’re looking for Social Workers and AMHPs passionate about improving outcomes for residents with mental health needs.
You must possess:
A Social Work England recognised qualification and current registration.
A strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a flexible, reflective approach to practice.
Please note: These positions are only for currently practicing social workers, as the IMHS is not able to offer the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) in this first year.
