£56,733 to £57,726 plus market supplement £3,494

Hackney is one of the most dynamic and progressive local authorities in the UK. We are a resilient, vibrant, and creative borough in the heart of London, with strong, diverse communities and a powerful set of shared values.

Over the past twenty years, the Council has built up first-class services, outstanding public infrastructure, and a reputation for excellence, innovation, and ambition. We are leading the way on essential work such as our fight for equity in Hackney with a particular focus on becoming an actively anti-racist borough. But the work doesn’t stop there, we are proactive in our approach to bringing fairness to all aspects of life including gender, neurodiversity and across the poverty divide.

As a Senior Digital Analyst in the ICT Enterprise Systems Team, you will lead on the continuous improvement of a key business critical system – iTrent.

The team maintains and develops systems and solutions to meet the needs of local people, businesses and council staff. This includes technology which serves some of our most vulnerable residents.

Our mission is to deliver fit for purpose systems and guidance, high standards of accessibility, availability, usefulness and excellent customer service.

We are looking to fill a Senior position primarily to support itrent, our HR & payroll system, but the successful candidate will also develop other processes and systems in line with the roadmap across other ICT product teams.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support, maintain and develop iTrent and Talentlink. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary product team to improve and integrate technology and other systems in a secure and robust manner
  • Support users to get full value from digital tools, helping them find the simplest, most secure way of achieving their goals. Ensure systems and services are functional, operational, secure and provide good customer journeys
  • Reporting requirements – manage and coordinate the collation of workforce information and analysis, produce reports, datasets and dashboards using a wide range of data
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. Google support team for SSO deployment) or external software vendors about the development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or fulfil new user requirements
  • Develop and improve internal processes between HR and other systems that have touch points in order to streamline the starters, movers and leavers process
  • Champion the adoption of best practice and methodologies within the organisation
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to establish best practices in service delivery
  • Manage and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence

About you

We don’t expect you to tick every box on our job description. The most important things we are looking for are:

  • Essential – minimum of 5 years experience supporting, configuring and significantly developing the iTrent software and processes
  • Essential – minimum of 5 years of experience using tools including Business Objects to fulfil workforce reporting requirements that inform analysis, decision-making and statutory reporting
  • Essential – expertise in systems support or administration, maintaining, developing and reporting of other large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Third party vendor management of applications that are externally hosted
  • Knowledge of ITSM framework (user management, service and change management)
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be supporting council staff as well as liaising with senior stakeholders / system owners and external suppliers
  • Organisational skills – you may be responsible for multiple applications serving our residents’ needs or internal users with complex business requirements
  • Prioritisation skills – you will be supporting thousands of internal users and prioritising needs with resource management
  • Sincerity and integrity – you can demonstrate that you work with honesty, trust and a ‘one’ organisation approach
  • Experience of positive and effective teamwork – line managing and mentoring

Our priorities

Over the next year the team’s priority areas of focus will be:

  • Develop and maintain our business critical applications whilst implementing user-centred improvements
