You will be responsible for working within the Borough’s Autism strategy and develop a Centre of Excellence for People with Learning Disabilities and Autism with an overall aim to achieve accreditation from the National Autistic Society.
You will work to ensure the wellbeing of service users, giving adequate support to maximise their dignity, independence, and privacy. You will be responsible for supervising a team and delivering creative Day Opportunities and Community Outreach Programmes for people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, complex needs and older adults in response to their assessed Care Act needs and agreed care plans.
The role also includes collaborating closely with customers’ families and carers to enable individuals to access meaningful activities, develop social and life skills that will enable them to make choices and take control of their lives. Part of the role is also to deputise for the Day Opportunities Manager and to work across Provided Services as a Team leader to cover absences when required. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the initiative to shape the new model to our Day Opportunities offer in a more creative, person centred and outcome focused approach, for our residents in the London Borough of Hackney.

This role builds leadership , communication and management skills -perfect for those aiming for senior roles or even registered management in the future, across Provided Services.

You will be required to demonstrate your knowledge and experience to lead a very vibrant and demanding environment, whilst being able to initiate a range of educational, vocational, and recreational activities.
You will need to demonstrate you are able to manage, guide and motivate a staff team ensuring anti-racism and inclusivity is embedded in your daily professional practice in Provided Services.
