We are seeking to recruit a full time Venues and Events Coordinator to manage the sales, coordination, operation and delivery of a range of commercial, private and internal events at currently four venues within the Borough.

With an emphasis on internal and external client management, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day liaison with clients, initial enquiries, leading on initial site-visit, through to pre-planning and up to delivery of the event on the day. Particular focus on the safe operation during event hire periods, adhering to health and safety legislation and licensing law will be a key responsibility.

The role will work closely with the Venues & Events Manager, Buildings Manager and other internal stakeholders such as facilities, parks and registration services.

You will have substantial and relevant experience in event management of large scale bookings in a venue, ideally both in administration and operations.

You should be familiar with the planning and delivery of a range of events, health and safety requirements such as risk assessments and fire safety and have experience in team and people management and are required to maintain and improve excellent levels of friendly customer service to clients/customers with a can do attitude.

The successful candidate must have experience of event based administration including diary systems, client databases and invoicing procedures.

This role includes late night, evening and weekend work on a rota basis so flexibility with working hours is essential.

Over the past twenty years, the Council has built up first-class services, outstanding public infrastructure, and a reputation for excellence, innovation, and ambition. We are leading the way on essential work such as our fight for equity in Hackney with a particular focus on becoming an actively anti-racist borough. But the work doesn’t stop there, we are proactive in our approach to bringing fairness to all aspects of life including gender, neurodiversity and across the poverty divide.

As a Council, our most outstanding asset is our staff, who are highly dedicated to serving our residents and committed to our goals as an organisation.
