We have some exciting opportunities in the Council, with vacancies in three teams for Business Administration apprentices. You will support the teams in their respective areas with administrative duties and you will gain operational and project management experience in the team’s area of responsibility. There are currently three vacancies on offer; within our Regeneration team, our Strategy and Governance team and our Road and Traffic Enforcement team.

The general working pattern for business administration apprentices is hybrid, where you will be working 2 days in the office and 2 days remotely from home while obtaining Business Administration Qualification. The exception is the Road and Traffic Enforcement support vacancy, which has a 7 day a week shift pattern. These opportunities will enable you to gain a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied across all sectors. This includes small, medium and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services and systems.

The responsibilities of the role will include supporting and engaging with different parts of the organisation and interacting with internal or external stakeholders. With a focus on adding value, the role of administrative assistant contributes to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required allows the apprentice to develop a wide range of skills.

The business administrators are expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity – showing a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills. The administrative assistant is also expected to show initiative, managing priorities and own time, problem-solving skills and decision-making.
