Do you want to work in a fast-paced environment at the heart of local government in Hackney?

Caroline Woodley was elected Mayor in November 2023, becoming the first woman directly elected as Mayor of Hackney.

As Cabinet Executive Support Officer you will work as part of the Mayor & Cabinet Office providing a comprehensive, coordinated and efficient support service to the Council’s senior leadership, enabling the Mayor and Cabinet to deliver their strategic objectives. Your role will include extensive diary management and administrative support, and require you to be the key interface between Cabinet members and internal and external stakeholders.

You will be highly motivated and proactive with strong organisational and communication skills; you will also have substantial experience in a similar role providing support to a senior manager or politician, providing a range of support services including diary management, and drafting correspondence.

Hackney is London’s most diverse and dynamic borough. Stretching from the edge of the City, to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, it is an area of rapid economic growth, particularly in the tech, media, fashion and other creative industries.

Hackney has more green space than any other inner London borough, some of the capital’s best schools, and first class transport connections, which combined with excellent local public services and a thriving arts, cultural and retail sector, are fast making it one of London’s most popular areas to live, work and visit. The challenge for Hackney is to make sure that the borough’s economic growth provides benefits for everyone who lives here, and to create opportunities that will transform the lives of local people. We know that staff are key to our success and we are seeking people with ambition, creativity and commitment to our values to help us achieve the best for the people of Hackney.

There is no better place to work in London than Hackney; we have great pride in our borough, our communities, and our services. Hackney is one of London’s most vibrant and diverse boroughs. It’s one of the most sought after areas to live in London with good schools, parks and local amenities, as well as great transport links and vibrant and diverse communities.
