Grade BMTU Band 3, Salary Range £28,775 up to £47,864 pa (Productivity Related)

We are looking for someone to help us maintain the properties we look after. Your role will be to help make sure these homes are maintained to a high standard for the people who live in them.

You will be working on properties across Hackney. Some of these homes will be occupied but you will also be helping us prepare others for their new occupants. To be able to do this work, you need a variety of maintenance skills. We need someone who has a good level of carpentry, plumbing, plastering, glazing, painting and decorating skills. Having a recognised qualification in one of these trades would be desirable.

Some of this work is physically demanding, you may need to climb ladders and lift heavy objects. You will need to apply a sensible approach to your work, be able to manage your time and take pride in your work.

You will need experience in repairs and maintenance perhaps for a Housing Association, Local Authority or as a contractor working in tenant’s homes. You need to hold a full UK driving licence (maximum 3 penalty points) as we will provide you with a work vehicle. You should have NVQ Level 2 in Maintenance Operations or similar City and Guilds qualification or relevant experience. You will also need to have IT skills as you may be using a hand held device to record your work.

In return you will get great opportunities for training, generous annual leave and the opportunity to earn up to £47,864pa on a productivity related pay scheme. Successful candidates will start on £42,087 pa, please note the salary is dependent on productivity and your salary may vary between £28,775 and £47,864 pa.
