Pause works with women who have experienced or are at risk of repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. The programme gives women the chance to pause and take control over their lives breaking a destructive cycle that causes them and their children deep trauma as well as reducing huge costs to society. As a Pause Practice Lead, you will provide operational day to day leadership to the Pause practice in Hackney where Pause was originally piloted and be part of a broader UK Programme, to ensure the delivery of an integrated package of health, therapeutic and social support. Pause is specifically designed to address the complex needs of women to enable change in their lives and ultimately reduce the number of children being removed into care.

To excel in this role within our Pause team, you will bring a relevant professional qualification and/or significant experience in a related field. Your expertise will encompass a strong understanding of evidence-based approaches, including systemic practice, social learning theory, attachment and loss, and relationship and strength-based interventions.
Crucially, you will possess a thorough knowledge of adult safeguarding, childcare legislation, local Child Protection Procedures, alongside a nuanced understanding of child development, parenting capacity, and risk and protective factors.
Your proven experience in providing effective case management and supervision to teams working with clients with complex needs will be invaluable. You will also be adept at producing clear, concise records and reports, and demonstrate the ability to use influence, evidence, and best practice to drive improved outcomes for service users. Finally, your strong verbal and written communication skills will enable effective liaison with service users, professionals, and partner agencies.
This role significantly contributes to aims 2 and 3 of the PH strategy, reducing health inequalities and improving social capital. This is achieved through supporting clients with a trauma informed approach that addresses multiple complexity, enabling better outcomes for employment, accommodation, developing social networks, and tackling the harms of substance use where appropriate
