Are you passionate about data and the digitalisation of planning? If you can present complex datasets in an engaging and easily digestible format, then Hackney needs you!

We’re looking for a Strategic Planning and Innovation Officer to play a key role in the digitisation of Hackney’s Strategic Planning function. You will work closely with teams from across the Council to meet our monitoring requirements and a detailed understanding of these aspects is essential. You should be confident with a range of IT packages including GIS and  comfortable with presenting complex data in a non technical manner.

You may be interested in developing or interested in utilising systems in a planning environment or already working in planning and want to explore analysis, research, and IT innovation to improve efficiency in planning.

You will have the ability to assist the production of planning and design guidance, support the preparation of robust strategic policies and advise on emerging regeneration programmes.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to engage and work in partnership with a wide range of groups from across the Borough, including residents, businesses, and community groups. You will help develop positive and proactive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

We go where the evidence takes us in Hackney and maintaining an up to date evidence base for emerging plans is a key aspect of supporting our communities and reflecting the wider corporate objectives of the Council.

We’d love to hear from you if you are considering your next career move and have a passion for planning in a dynamic urban environment and utilising data systems, GIS and innovation in the planning system.
