What is a Management Trainee?

The Management Trainee (MT) scheme is a two-year programme which fast tracks the trainee into management positions in a variety of departments in the council

MT’s gain experience and insight into a multitude of council services as well as gaining professional development opportunities to aid their journey toward becoming an effective leader.

The two-year scheme provides management placements within multiple council service areas in addition to short term shadowing opportunities, a mentoring scheme and access to senior management meetings and 1-1s.

The scheme is split into 3-6 month placements across the two years.
